#01. How it works
Musa Body Machinery partnered with the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) under the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, and Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) to supply value-addition equipment to youth groups across Kampala’s five divisions: Central, Kawempe, Makindye, Nakawa, and Lubaga.
The objective was twofold:
Tackle youth unemployment by providing practical machinery that supports small enterprises.
Curb food wastage in city markets by turning surplus farm produce into profitable products.
Youth beneficiaries received machinery such as popcorn makers for maize, juice processing units for fruits like pineapples, passion fruits, and carrots, and deep fryers for Irish potatoes and fish, among others.
